Arche has two ways to work in the same web app. Classic is the usual layout with the full sidebar. AI mode starts from an Inbox of what needs you and keeps Arche's chat beside every page. Both show the same records, pages and permissions. Only the navigation changes, so you can switch at any time without losing your place.
Early access
AI mode is in early access. Arche is opening it to some companies first, so you may not see the switch yet. When it is open to your company, it appears for everyone there who can use the AI Assistant.
You see the switch when all of these are true:
- your company has the AI Assistant module;
- your role includes permission to use the AI chat (
use_ai_chat); - AI is switched on for your company, with the general chat enabled in AI Settings;
- Arche has opened AI mode to your company.
If one of them stops being true, Arche shows Classic, whatever you chose last. A change on Arche's side can take up to 5 minutes to reach you if you are already signed in.
How to switch
- On a wide screen, use the Classic / AI mode switch in the top bar. Below a certain width it shows two icons; hover over one to see its name.
- On any screen, open your user menu (your photo or initials in the top right) and choose Switch to AI mode or Switch to Classic.
- Or press Ctrl K (Cmd K on a Mac), type "switch", and pick the same option.
The page you are on stays open, including anything you had typed into a form.
Your choice is saved to your account, so it follows you to other browsers and computers, and to every company you belong to where AI mode is open.

The Inbox (/ai) shows what needs you: changes Arche has proposed that wait for your decision, and the approvals and tasks from Up next. It also shows what you decided today and the next pay day. Review with Arche opens Ask with a question about an item, so you can check the details before you decide.

Questions
Does AI mode give me access to more data? No. AI mode uses the same permissions as Classic. Pages, records and AI tools you cannot open in Classic stay closed in AI mode.
I switched to AI mode and now I see Classic again. Why? One of the conditions above is no longer true for the company you are working in. For example, you moved to a company where AI mode is not open yet, or an admin switched AI off in AI Settings. Your saved choice is kept, and AI mode comes back when the conditions are met again.
Is the mobile app affected? No. The mobile app has its own layout. Its AI Inbox, where you approve your own proposals, does not depend on AI mode.
Who decides which companies get AI mode during early access? Arche does. Your company's admins cannot switch it on themselves yet. If you would like early access, contact us.
